Announcements: Our 4-5 year old class just had their last session with our Music Therapy Students Maddy and Jazmine. The kids just loved these two girls. We are happy to hear that Jazmine just got engaged to me married. On Thursday they did some of there favorite interventions from the semester and also composed a song. I’m going to work on putting the song on our blog so you can all hear their song writing.
Spring is a great time to talk about water because we typically get lots of rain. This week we will talk about water and rain and the importance it has on our lives. We also will talk about conserving water so we don’t waste when we brush our teeth and wash hands.
May 10th is coming up which is the Smithfield Health Day’s Parade. We will be riding in our little red truck and singing and throwing candy to parade goers. We did the parade last year and the kids had a great time. Have your children wear their yellow preschool t-shirt. We will meet at Sky View High at 9:45 and the parade will begin at 10:00am. Parents are welcome to walk on the side of the truck if you would like. I already have two parents who are willing to come with us so thank you! Let me know if you have any questions.
Home Challenge: By providing a variety of materials that children can explore like soil, sand, rocks and water this will help them understand their environment and be curious about the world we live in. When you take your children to the playground, a park or camping, encourage them to look at all the variety of material the earth is made of. You can also plan a trip to a museum like the USU Anthropology Museum which is open every Saturday for FREE or the Odgen Children’s Museum. Children need opportunities to explore their natural environment and so they can learn about the world we live in.
