Group Music Therapy

Overlymusical, LLC does a number of groups.  We offer:
1.  Wellness Groups at Older Adult Communities
2.  Mental Health Wellness groups in treatment centers
3.  Groups for children and teens with developmental disabilities

If you are interested in starting another group please contact me. Music Therapy groups can be provided to a facility as a contract service. These prices and times of services will be negotiated to each facility. Sessions can be held weekly, bi-weekly or more depending on the need of your clients/residents.  Examples of facilities that may use Overlymusical music therapy services are Residential Treatment Centers, Older Adult Facilities, Special Education Classrooms in schools, Preschools, groups of individuals who have similar needs (these can be done here at our facility or in a clients home if space is adequate.

Group Music Therapy is a great way for more then one client to receive music therapy in a group setting.  Participants will attend weekly group where music interventions will address a variety of goals such as

  • Speech/Verbal Communication
  • Gross Motor Development
  • Fine Motor Development
  • Social Skills
  • Emotional Regulation and Expression
  • Cognition
  • Attention Span
  • Listening Skills
  • Sensory Integration
  • Music Appreciation and Recreation
  • Development of new skills which will enhance wellness and self-esteem

Please call or e-mail to schedule a sample group session.  Group prices are $100 per hour. This include planning, charting, travel, and supplies needed for the group.

Group prices will includes a group initial assessment of needs,  individualized treatment plan, which will include one individual goal and one group goal.  Goals will be evaluated and assessed every three months. The price may increase if facilitating more then 12 clients in the group. Heather is trained to write in patients notes for charting.
